“My father had polio as a child”

My father had polio as a child then 30 odd years later he got ill they found out it has turned in to post-polio syndrome , he always knew his arm/hand/shoulder/fingers were smaller than the other and it affected the whole side of his body. He suffers daily with, pain, fatigue . why has the pip assessor lied and how can DWP state they understand your conditions when they have stripped him off lifetime DLA to nothing on pip …

With his polio it has affected whole down one side of his body and he had to overcompensate his other side of his body to live his life. He was awarded DLA for life for care as he needed help with cooking washing etc. as cooking with 1 arm is no good, you can’t even open a tin of soup, he also got full mobility as the pain walking is unbearable, the fatigue can be so bad and muscle weakness.

Then he got called up for PIP transfer well he attended and he’s a very proud man who has a part-time job 2 hrs a day, booking in backpackers, all he can manage to give him a life, after his f2f he thought was fine , he received a letter stating he is not entitled to PIP at all, the assessor had lied and stated he had a full medical and did all these amazing exercises.

It was stated his bad arm that has no nerves working properly can move over 150 degrees and his medical notes state back 11 yrs ago it was 90 degrees , it also states his thumb finger grip is so good that he can cook use aids (single handed ) use aids to dress ( single handed ) and the list goes on and on.
we have complained failed the MR as assessor states he walked in normal gait when dad does not.

Then we applied to court for DWP to re-look at your evidence again , we managed to get dad to have an MRI on lower legs to show he has issues walking sent the courts the full MRI scan and it showed his left side is now more damaged than his right as over the years he uses his left as the right has post-polio syndrome, it showed he does have issues as lumbar injuries, we have provided this evidence and this would show that his mobility is affected.
Well also we have failed that as even though we have written a letter to state what in the assessors report we are not happy with and explained everything, DWP still state my father has not stated what parts of the pip claim he was not happy with. DWP are corrupt .. now a long wait for court, in the meantime dad was on working tax credits as he is disabled and 16 hrs is all he could work, he’s now had to claim UC and is no longer classed as disabled any more.
